About

I am a licensed psychologist who does not do therapy - my practice is dedicated to the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders and behavioral, social, and emotional issues in individuals ages 3 to 22 years. Defining my practice to this purpose, and this age group, allows me to focus and become highly specialized in developing my skills in this area.

A Wilmington resident for over 25 years, I have been in private practice since 2009. In the past, I have been a Psychology Instructor at UNC-W, a School Psychologist for New Hanover County Schools, and a Staff Psychologist and Supervisor at the Children’s Developmental Services Agency (formerly the DEC). Currently, I also spend time providing evaluations at a private practice in Atlanta, which helps me keep my knowledge and skills up to date.

I believe that thorough assessment and evaluation is needed in order to identify strengths and weaknesses within an individual, to guide an effective treatment plan. Whether or not there is a disability present, this insight can help develop strategies that will promote success and understanding of an individual, family, and situation.

Fun Facts

My husband and I are empty nesters with two wonderful adult daughters that we are very proud of. In my spare time, I am an avid reader (averaging a book a week), avid movie watcher, and I’m trying to learn to knit. I love traveling and exploring new places, and the kid in me loves all things Disney.
